About Me
Robert Patterson is
drawn to form and creates with light.
He uses texture and context to point to the sublime in the world around us,
revealing themes of change and evolution where we see the mundane in stasis.
His work in film and
television allows him to take a story telling approach
to his subject matter. His technical experience, hidden in the emotional
content of his work,
suggests that there is more going on here than simply capturing an image.
Simply put, he uses photography to express what words cannot.
Born in Ottawa, he
has worked as a free-lance photographer
and Camera man, around the world. He has hosted several
successful showings of his work and has immersed himself in
Ottawa’s growing artistic community, both in collaboration with
artists in other disciplines and on projects that are distinctly recognizable
as his own.

More about me.
Building this website has been a rather educational experience. I've come to learn a bit more about myself as a photographer, my limitaions and strengths. Several ideas for projects have come to mind along with a better idea of what I want to focus on with my photography.
That said I am currently seeking assignments, representation and feedback. On a more specific level I would like to do a lot more work with bands, possibly even covering part or all of a tour with the band. I'm also seeking anyone who would like to be photographed EXTENSIVELY to be a part of a larger project. I'll leave it at that for now but if you think you might be interested contact me through this site and I'll get back to you.
Most of the photos on this site are available for sale, in future I may set up an account to purchase directly from this site but in the mean time if you like anything you see here or require the needs of a photographer of my style contact me here.
Thanks for taking the time to browse, I'd love to hear any feedback and suggestions you may have.
Robert Patterson.
